These are the roles we are currently casting. Please select the character(s) you feel best suited for.

[THE MESSENGER] - 40s/70s. Male. Open ethnicity. Ghostly, enigmatic, and ominous. Blind or seemingly blind, with an eerie stillness and a prophetic quality. He should feel human, but not entirely of this world. Seeking a memorable, haunting presence. SUPPORTING.

[REBBETZIN AZRAEL] - 50s/60s. Female. Ashkenazi. Warm, perceptive, and quietly strong. She brings emotional intelligence, steadiness, and a nurturing presence into a world shaped by spiritual rigor and restraint. SUPPORTING.

[SENDER] - 50s/60s. Male. Sephardic. A likable, larger-than-life patriarch devoted to providing for his family. He is a shrewd businessman who softens into a Papa Bear around his daughter. Scarred by his wife’s death and never remarrying, he poured his grief into work, amassing a fortune. His old-world masculinity—shaped by resilience and bearing pain in silence—crumbles when his daughter’s life is in danger, leaving him exposed and vulnerable. SUPPORTING.

[FRAYDA] - 60s/70+. Female. Sephardic. Superstitious, fretful, and sharp-tongued, rooted in love and fear. Fiercely protective and meddlesome, she is a vivid personality with comic texture and surprising emotional truth. SUPPORTING.

[MENASHE] - 20s. Male. Sephardic/Mizrahi. Stylish, entitled, and self-assured, with a streak of audacious chutzpah. Charming on the surface, but shallow and status-driven underneath. Carries himself with the confidence of someone accustomed to approval. SUPPORTING.

[MEYER THE BEADLE] - 40s/60s. Male. Open ethnicity. Deferential, loyal, and comically nervous. The synagogue caretaker; he is eager to be helpful, set in his routines and respectful of rules and order. SUPPORTING.

[BASSIA] - Late teens/Early 20s. Female. Open ethnicity. Soft-spoken, agreeable, and conservative. Observant yet easily overlooked. SUPPORTING.

[RABBI SAMSON] - 70s+. Male. Open ethnicity. Elderly, frail, and spiritually formidable. A holy man with profound wisdom, presence, and quiet authority that commands respect. Thoughtful and contemplative, he weighs his words carefully. SUPPORTING.

[ESTHER] - 60s/70s. Female. Open ethnicity. Fervent, raw, and emotionally volatile. A brief but memorable role requiring strong emotional accessibility and expressive range. SUPPORTING.

[DR. MENDEL] - 40s/60s. Male. Open ethnicity. Calm, pragmatic, and credible. A measured, rational presence amid heightened emotion and spiritual unrest. SUPPORTING.

[NACHMAN] - 50s/60s. Male. Sephardic/Mizrahi. Traditional, polished, and socially astute. Menashe’s father, he reflects family pride, propriety, and social expectation. SUPPORTING.

[MENASHE’S MOTHER] - 50s/60s. Female. Sephardic/Mizrahi. Elegant, status-conscious, and prone to dramatics. Adoring of her son and concerned with appearances. SUPPORTING.

[YACHNA] - 70s. Female. Open ethnicity. An elderly woman with a hunched frame and unsettling presence. Intrusive and overly familiar, with no sense of personal space. Demanding, with a shrill, whining voice. Seeking a bold character actor. SUPPORTING.
